Pop Corn Makers Day

  • Time: 12:00pm

Relive our Pop Corn Makers event! Kids explored science through popcorn magic—sensory play, teamwork, and delicious learning.

Event Recap (Past Tense):

At Pearly Minds Academy, we transformed ordinary corn kernels into extraordinary adventures during our Pop Corn Makers Day! Little scientists donned chef hats and dove into a whirlwind of sensory exploration, teamwork, and scientific discovery.

Activity Highlights:

🍿 1. Kernel Investigation Station
Kids observed raw kernels using magnifying glasses (“They’re like tiny suns!”).

Predicted changes: “Will they float? What happens when they get HOT?”

🔥 2. The Great Popping Experiment
Safety-first demo: Teachers used a popcorn machine while kids counted seconds until POP.

Learning in Action:

  • Skill Developed: Activity Example
  • Scientific Inquiry: Hypothesizing why kernels pop (steam power!).
  • Math & Measurement: Counting kernels, comparing volumes (before/after popping).
  • Teamwork: Sharing materials to build giant popcorn art.
  • Language Growth: Descriptive words: crunchy, fluffy, explode.

Why This Mattered:

  • We believe curiosity is the best teacher. This event:
  • Demystified science through play.
  • Turned snack time into STEM time.
  • Showed teamwork makes the dream work (and the popcorn pop!).
